Christmas plays in churches everywhere will tell about the angels, the shepherds, the wise men, Joseph, and Mary.  Some might even include the animals.  The manger might seem incomplete without them and they are all important. But the one most important part of the Christmas story is Jesus.

Only three children will tell you about the greatest gift that God has ever given.  This should remind us that even if there had only been one person, maybe just (your name here) that needed a Savior, Jesus would have come to die for even that one person.

Just three children telling the story about God's love perhaps to a small group; all reflecting on God's grace and love brings praise and glory to Him: our audience of ONE.  Let us not focus on the strength of our numbers, but the purity of our praise.  We know that even where there are only two or three gathered in His name, He is there also.  He is our audience.  He is the one that we want to praise and please. He is the creator of the universe; He is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

He, Jesus, the Great I AM, Emmanuel, came to earth as a baby in a manger and died for us on the Cross.

We hope this program that portrays only 3 children trying to decide how they can make their manger complete without all of the traditional characters realize that Jesus is the only one in the manger scene who makes it complete. This should be a reminder of the faithfulness of our Great and Wonderful God and the incredible eternity with Him in heaven that waits for those who have accepted the greatest gift, Jesus as their Savior.

Only Jesus makes the manger complete and only Jesus can make us complete.
